Longtime Pittsburgh city clerk retiring
Pittsburgh City Council on Tuesday appointed Deputy City Clerk Mary Beth Doheny to replace longtime Clerk Linda Johnson-Wasler who is retiring March 14.
Johnson-Wasler, 65, of Highland Park has served as clerk for 20 years. She previously was assistant city clerk. Her annual salary is $91,665.
The clerk's office is responsible for recording all council actions, scheduling all council meetings, keeping records and providing members with support staff among other things.
Council will swear in Doheny, 54, of Point Breeze on March 18.
