Man charged with exposing his breasts

A 23-year-old man is charged in Ohio with exposing his breasts in public.

Cincinnati police charged Jerome Mason with indecent exposure in April after they reported he was showing his chest in public, the Cincinnati Post reported Wednesday. Mason, who is 6-foot-tall and weighs 200 pounds, has the breasts of a female, prosecutors said.

"He's a guy. He's real tall, and he's got a full set of breasts," said assistant Cincinnati solicitor Kevin Donovan.

The charge carries a maximum sentence of 30 days in jail.

Attorney Michael Welsh, who has offered to represent Mason, says no crime has been committed.

"It's not illegal for a man to expose his breasts," Welsh said. "It's not even technically illegal for a woman to expose her breasts (in public)."

Welsh said there is no Ohio law that makes it a crime for a man to expose his breasts. In fact, Welsh said, a 1990 ruling in Hamilton County also means it's not illegal for women to publicly bare their breasts.
