Police in Ferndale, Mich., are investigating a killing at the recording studio where rap star Eminem recorded his 1997 debut, "The Slim Shady LP."

The body of a man in his late 40s was discovered with a single gunshot wound on the first-floor foyer of Studio 8, located at Eight Mile and Woodward, WDIV-TV, Detroit reported.

The body was provisionally identified Tuesday as studio owner A.J. Abdullah, but police have not yet confirmed his identity. Abdullah had not been heard from since Friday.

The studio is currently for sale on eBay and has one bid at $215,000. Bidding began Dec. 16 and is scheduled to close Jan. 13.
