Man killed in accident on Route 8 in Richland

A Gibsonia man died when his vehicle flipped on Route 8 in Richland last night, authorities said.

Cory Linn, 21, was traveling north about 6:30 p.m. when he struck another vehicle while merging into the right lane near Heckert Road, said Northern Regional police Chief Bob Amann.

Linn lost control and hit a light pole, Amann said. The vehicle flipped, eventually coming to rest in the parking lot of Uncle Charlie's Pizza shop, he said.

Linn died at the scene, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office.

The occupants of the other vehicle weren't injured, Amann said.
