A 20-year-old man was flown to West Penn Hospital in Bloomfield after suffering second- and third-degree burns over 60 percent of his body in an accident Thursday night in Butler County, said STAT MedEvac spokesman John Chamberlain. The young man, who suffered burns to his head, chest, arms and face, was injured shortly before 10 p.m. at an outing in Cranberry Township, Chamberlain said. Paramedics told flight crew nurses that the young man was injured when an aerosol can he tossed into a fire exploded, Chamberlain said. Township police were still at the scene last night, county emergency dispatchers said.
