Management Science Associates Inc., which employs about 700 in the city's Larimer/East Liberty area, has purchased an office building in Ross.
A subsidiary, Coneval Management Co. LLC, with the same address of MSA at 6565 Penn Ave., acquired the building from Karla C. D. McNamara for $2.35 million, according to a deed filed in Allegheny County. Signing for Coneval was Cathy A. Opsitnick, MSA's chief executive. She declined to comment on the reason for the purchase. The property consists of two buildings at 115 Evergreen Heights Drive in Ross.
"OneCall System is one tenant in the building along with several others. Together, they occupy about 50 percent of the 65,000-square-foot building," said Joel Kreider, a Grubb & Ellis vice president, who represented the seller. Chatham University, which purchased the former Eichleay Building that houses MSA on Penn Avenue, is in lease negotiations with MSA, said Paul Kovach, a Chatham spokesman.
He declined further comment.. When Chatham purchased the 250,000-square-foot building in October 2008, MSA occupied about 150,000 square feet. In 2002, MSA purchased a site at the Rockpointe Business Park in West Deer. It occupies a 42,000-square-foot building there.
