The death of an 80-year-old Penn Hills man who jumped off the Westinghouse Bridge early Saturday morning has been ruled a suicide by the Allegheny County Coroner's Office.

Emor Shepard leaped from the bridge, located in North Versailles, about 6:30 a.m. yesterday. A witness tried to talk Shepard out of jumping, a coroner's office spokesman said.

Shepard died from blunt force trauma to the head, trunk and extremities, the coroner's office said.
