Many factors enter into college choice
Finally, your senior year arrives and you can’t wait to get out of school.
But before you start packing your bags, there is one thing that you should be giving serious thought to.
What should I do after school and where should I goâ¢
Determining which college is right for you can be a tough decision.
There are so many things to take into consideration when choosing a college.
Some serious details to consider are how big or small the campus is, its location, safety, and what fields of study are offered.
And, of course, there’s the money factor.
The best way to find out what college is right for you is to go out and visit the possible schools.
By visiting you can see firsthand the campus, meet with the admissions counselors, and possibly get to talk with students, faculty, and coaching staff.
Some colleges or universities will even let you apply on site and waive the application fee.
It is a good idea to apply to at least three schools and have your guidance counselor send your transcripts to the schools you wish to apply to.
Once you get that letter of acceptance the next thing to do – unfortunately – is to wait for the offers to come in.
Some schools might offer you a scholarship when you visit them or they will give you the opportunity to apply for various scholarships offered at their school.
Scholarships are important and will help you and your family, and can help determine which college to attend.
Money is definitely a major factor in deciding where you want
The atmosphere of the school also can help you make your decision.
Ask yourself if you can picture living there for at least four years.
Those are some questions that only you can answer.
Overall, the college application process and decision is grueling and if you haven’t already applied or started looking yet, there is still time.
Apply as soon as possible! After you make the decision on which college is right for you – you’ll soon realize that the efforts you have made to get there will be well worth it.
