Grammy Award-winning singer Mariah Carey has written and recorded original ringtones for a promotion by Pepsi Cool Tones & Motorola Phones. Carey will contribute 20 voice and music tones for the promotion, which kicks off with a U.S. TV ad blitz in May, Pepsi said in a news release. "I had a lot of fun with this project," Carey said in a statement. "It was a great creative outlet because musically I could do things here that I would never think to do for one of my albums." As part of the deal, Carey will kick off her summer tour with a Pepsi Smash concert at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles. Fans will be awarded tickets to the concert via radio and retail promotions, Pepsi said. © Copyright 2006 by United Press International
