Vito C. Martucci Funeral Home, 123 S. First St., West Side, Connellsville, is unique because business has increased every year for the past 31 years. This is a 24-hour a day, seven days a week funeral business.

There are four employees: Vito C. Martucci is owner-director, Jeffrey L. Martucci is director-supervisor, Jean Martucci is hair stylist and Gregory Martucci is full-time assistant.

Vito states, "We sell ourselves to those we serve, so that they trust and confide in us. We are a family-owned business, not controlled by any funeral association or organization. Our business extends beyond the Connellsville and South Connellsville areas."

The funeral home has expanded over the past year with a four-stall garage for equipment, wheelchair ramp and new funeral parlor. New equipment has been added, too, a new lead car and hearse.

Vito wants area residents to know that, "We constantly renovate, remodel and update where it may be needed. We are firm believers in preventive maintenance and keeping our facility top notch for those we serve.

Our establishment prides itself in owning the largest collection of 19th-century original antique Victorian table and hanging lamps than any other funeral home in Pennsylvania."

Why did the Martuccis start a business in the Fay-West area• Because the immediate and surrounding areas contain a mixture of cultural, ethnic, religious and good, hard working, proud people -- also the family has always lived from the area.

"This is a family business. The Martucci Funeral Home has geographically and numerically grown each year, and we expect to continue to do so in the future," said Vito. "Our thoughts and ideas are solely our own. We realize that we must serve the people at the highest professional level expected of us, but we must also make everyone comfortable and at ease from the very first phone call, throughout, during and after each funeral ceremony.
