The Master Builders Association of Western Pennsylvania Thursday dedicated its new headquarters in Green Tree with hopes it will earn a gold Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design rating.

"We wanted to demonstrate the MBA's commitment to "green" construction by converting this building to blend in with the seemingly rural setting," said Jack Ramage, executive director.

F.J. Busse Inc. was the contractor on the two-story, 10,000-square-foot former Iron City Sash and Door Building, which will house the association's six employees and three staff of the nonprofit Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh, which MBA started in 1993. The association acquired the building for $1 million in 2007.

Cost of construction was not disclosed. The association's previous location was in the Parkway West Business Park, Robinson.
