Mayor's bobbleheads are popular
A popular suburban Chicago mayor says he isn't sure he's comfortable with bobblehead dolls in his likeness, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Naperville Mayor George Pradel ran unopposed last year for his third term and is asked every year to play Santa Claus at numerous functions.
Businessman Ray Kinney decided it was high time to immortalize his friend by having bobblehead dolls made in his image.
The dolls retail for $27.50 and the proceeds benefit a cancer center, YMCA and a municipal carillon. More than 200 were sold the first two weeks they were on the market, Kinney said.
While Pradel isn't shy about speaking in public, he admitted to being sheepish about people buying the waggly-headed toys that resemble him.
"I don't really ask to be popular," he said.
