McKeesport teenager gets at least 30 years for murder
An Allegheny County judge sentenced a McKeesport teenager to 30 to 60 years in prison for his guilty plea to third-degree murder.
Common Pleas Judge David R. Cashman sentenced Bryan Gilbert, 17, on Monday for the April 12, 2009, killing of Cecil G. Potter III, 35, of McKeesport. Police said the shooting began as a plot to rob Potter of marijuana in his home.
Robert Pace, 22, of Carrick is charged with homicide in the incident. His trial is scheduled for March.
Gilbert was a freshman at McKeesport Area High School at the time of the shooting.
