Tony Alexander Stewart was born August 9, 1979, in Lohne, Germany.
Drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fifth round (147th overall) in 2001. Signed off Eagles' practice squad on Nov. 23, 2002.
Caught a touchdown pass in his first NFL game, Nov. 29, 2001, in Kansas City. Became the first Eagles player to accomplish the feat since Charlie Garner in 1994.
Streak of 40 consecutive games played with the Bengals ended this season after he missed two weeks with an injured back.
Two-year starter at Penn State. Finished collegiate career with 59 receptions for 861 yards and three touchdowns. Led Penn State in receiving as a senior -- the first tight end to do so since 1979; was named an honorable mention all-American by the Football News.
Hobbies included reading, snowboarding and pocket billiards.

Married to Kara. Has a 1-year old son, Alex.
His third-grade teacher, Wanda Benkovic of Holy Spirit School in Allentown won the 2004 NFL Teacher of the Year award after she was nominated by Stewart.
