Joseph Allen Willison, 30, avoided trial by pleading guilty Monday to failing to register as a sex offender under Megan's Law.
It was the second time Willison failed to register his address with police.
After a previous guilty plea and withdrawal this summer, Willison admitted Monday to failing to report a new address after police allegedly found him last year living at 131 Booth Road, Gilpin. Willison's registered address was 107 Lowell St., Vandergrift, assistant district attorney Jason Lewis said.
Megan's Law requires sex offenders to inform law enforcement within 48 hours of an address change.
Willison moved from the Vandergrift address to Gilpin and failed to notify police between Sept. 6 and Oct. 15, 2007, Lewis said.
Because this is Willison's second conviction for failing to register, the charge is a felony and carries a maximum seven-year sentence, Judge Kenneth Valasek said.
Willison was initially convicted in Allegheny County for a sex-related crime in 2005. He was sentenced in 2006 in Westmoreland County for failing to register as a sex offender under Megan's Law.
Willison initially pleaded guilty to the Armstrong County charge in June and then withdrew his plea in July. His trial was to begin this week.
He is scheduled for sentencing on Sept. 23.
