Men charged in prostitution sting

Uniontown police charged six men on Thursday with a misdemeanor count of prostitution related to an undercover sting that involved 17 arrests in the Fayette County seat last week.

The arrests, with the help of the Fayette County Drug Task Force, came from activity on North Gallatin Avenue.

The six men are accused of offering money for sexual favors from an undercover female officer or confidential informant wearing a recording device on June 21.

The defendants are Calvin G. Thomas, 57, 29 Maurice St., Uniontown; Earl M. Forsythe, 60, 220 Shaffers Corners, South Union Township; Harry E. Denney, 35, 182 Denney Road, Menallen Township; David C. Dickerson, 52, 158 Club York Road, Georges Township; Sturge W. Hughes, 61, RD 2 Box 538, Farmington; and James G. Palko, 58, 167 Messmore Road, German Township.

Ten women and one man were charged last week with prostitution.

The other alleged male customer also faces charges of possession with intent to deliver cocaine and possession of marijuana.
