A missing 6-year-old Crafton girl has been reunited with her father, and police have arrested her grandparents.
Police charged LaDonna Milligan, 48, and her husband William Milligan II, 51, of Crafton with interference with the custody of a child and concealing the whereabouts of a child, Crafton police Chief Mark Sumpter said.
The couple were arrested at their Rodgers Avenue home about 7 p.m. yesterday after police received a tip they had returned, Sumpter said.
"I'm so glad she's back in my arms," Kurt Humbert, 31, of Ingram said of his daughter Bella Milligan. "It's amazing."
Humbert told police that he last saw his daughter Aug. 5, when he dropped off Bella at her mother's house in Crafton. Amanda Milligan, 28, lives with her parents, police said. When Humbert returned, Bella and her mother were gone, police said.
Amanda Milligan's attorney Bernie Caputo said she took Bella because she was "worried for her health and wellness." He declined to elaborate.
Amanda Milligan surrendered to police Thursday but did not have Bella, Sumpter said. Authorities charged her with interfering with the custody of a child. She is in the Allegheny County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Thursday, court records show.
Caputo said LaDonna and William Milligan II contacted him yesterday and arranged to give him Bella so he could turn her over to police.
William Milligan II is being held at the county jail in lieu of $30,000 bond, and LaDonna Milligan has been released on her own recognizance, jail officials said.
