A Monessen man faces sentencing in U.S. District Court in Pittsburgh on Dec. 15 after pleading guilty to a firearms violation. According to the office of U.S. Attorney Mary Beth Buchanan, Timothy Hall, 32, of 678 Reed Ave., pleaded guilty Tuesday to a charge of violating federal firearms laws before U.S. District Judge Terrence F. McVerry. Assistant U.S. Attorney Ross E. Lenhardt told the court that on Dec. 31, 2004, Hall was found in possession of a .40 caliber Ruger handgun. He previously had been convicted in Westmoreland County on charges including arson, criminal conspiracy to commit arson, possession of cocaine with intent to deliver and conspiracy to possess cocaine with intent to deliver. Under federal law, anyone convicted of a crime that is punishable by a prison term exceeding one year is prohibited from possessing a firearm. Hall will appear before McVerry for sentencing. He faces a potential maximum sentence of life in prison, a fine of $250,000 or both. Additional Information:
