Monroeville chamber hires new president

Chad M. Amond has been named president of the Monroeville Area Chamber of Commerce.

Amond will begin his new duties Monday.

He replaces Wes Blaha, who begins his retirement Friday after 17 years as chamber president.

Amond has been a communications and marketing specialist at Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville for three years. He has a bachelor's degree in communications from Slippery Rock University and is pursuing a master's degree in business administration from Seton Hill University, Greensburg.

He is a member of the Monroeville Rotary Club and is on the board of directors of the East Suburban YMCA.

Amond and his wife, Amy, reside in Greensburg with their daughter, Madelyn, 2.
