The Monroeville Kmart is among six of the discount department stores in Pennsylvania that will be closed this spring, its parent company announced Wednesday.

Sears Holdings announced that the Monroeville store will be among 78 Kmart stores and 26 Sears locations to close this spring.

Kmart stores the Alle-Kiski Valley — New Kensington and Allegheny Township — are not affected, nor are those in Unity and Rostraver in Westmoreland County, to name a few that will remain open.
