Montour linebacker Christian Wilson has the film ready. He'll be sure to watch it before Montour's season opener, and then the juices will begin to flow. All of the frustration and anger will resurface as he revisits a few episodes of ESPN's "Bound For Glory," which was taped during his sophomore season. The 6-foot-3, 235-pound Wilson said he'll remember how inaccurately he was portrayed. Since then, he's evolved into one of the most sought-after two-way prospects in the country. Watching episodes of the show before games last season motivated him, and since then, he's worked harder to prove all of his critics wrong. "(I was mad) because the way that they came out with it," Wilson said. "The show wasn't the way that they predicted it to be with all the drama. They basically turned it into what they wanted it to be, and that really wasn't what it was. That's what made me mad the most. It made me look like something I'm not." Two years later, Wilson has garnered 50 scholarship offers from some schools who want him to line up at running back, others at linebacker and a few who will leave the choice up to him. Wilson said Michigan and Rutgers are currently his favorites, with Michigan in the lead. The previously injury-plagued Wilson is stronger and healthier and focused on improving upon his junior campaign, when he rushed for 970 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also recorded a team-high 79 tackles. "His biggest asset is his love for the game right now," Montour coach Lou Cerro said. "If you asked me two years ago, I couldn't say that, but now he knows it. Everybody is counting on him. It's a lot of pressure to put on a young kid. It's been on his shoulders since he's been a freshman because everyone knew how great an athlete he was going to be. Now he's matured a little bit and is taking everything in stride. His work ethic improved 200 percent since I've been here and taken more of a leadership role. He's evolved into an all-around athlete and person." Cerro said Wilson, who turned 17 on July 12, is the "happiest-go-lucky kid" he's ever met. He's an extremely likeable person, and that, in part, is why he is one of the leaders of a Montour team in the midst of turning around a program that hasn't had a winning season since 1999-2000. "I feel my role is going to do all I can do and more to try and win," Wilson said. "I definitely want to win a championship, but I also want to have a season where it turns Montour around, where we actually have a winning season. That's my biggest goal to at least get things moving forward. I would definitely like to be the kid to turn Montour around." Additional Information:
