A senior starter on the Moon Area High School basketball team was charged with sexually assaulting a young woman after a party at his home.

Vincent Valenzi, 18, of Moon, is charged with raping an unconscious victim, raping a substantially impaired person, sexual assault, corrupting minors and providing alcohol to minors. All the sex-related charges involve the same victim, who told police she kissed Valenzi but told him she did not want to have sex with him.

Valenzi admitted having sex with her, but at her initiation, according to the criminal complaint. A preliminary hearing on the charges began this week before being continued until June 8.
