Mother, son accused of robbing woman in Greensburg
A Derry Township mother and son teamed up to rob a woman of $125 while driving her home from a Greensburg tavern early Saturday morning, city police said.
Lisa Nowlin, 46, and her son, Niccio Thomas Nowlin, 25, are accused of robbing the victim after offering to drive her home from Mr. Smitty's Place at 245 E. Pittsburgh St. police Capt. Chad Zucco said.
On the ride home from the bar, Lisa Nowlin, who was driving, allegedly took the victim's purse, Zucco said. When the victim resisted, Niccio Nowlin, who was sitting in the back seat, got out of the car, opened the front passenger door and forcibly removed the victim from the vehicle on Grant Street, Zucco said.
The suspects tossed her purse and cell phone onto the street, Zucco said.
The Nowlins were both charged with robbery, conspiracy, theft and simple assault.
