State Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane said there have been three more arrests in connection with an ongoing effort to defeat drug-related violence in Western Pennsylvania.

Included is the third arrest made by Munhall police in the current crackdown.

On Friday, borough police picked up James Andrew King III, 29, of Rankin on one count each of delivery of heroin, possession with the intent to deliver heroin, possession of heroin and resisting arrest, two counts each of possession of drug paraphernalia and reckless endangerment of another person, three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and three traffic violations.

Kane said police seized more than 50 bricks or 2,660 bags of heroin, one .40-caliber Glock handgun and $660 in cash.

King was in Allegheny County Jail late Friday awaiting arraignment. No information on his bond status was available at presstime.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for King on Aug. 27 at 1 p.m. before Magisterial District Judge Thomas R. Torkowsky in Munhall.

It will be the third hearing before Torkowsky for suspects in the crackdown by Kane's office.

Marquese Underwood, 19, of West Mifflin and Terrick Smith, 21, of Braddock are scheduled for Wednesday at 1 p.m. before the Munhall district judge. They were arrested for alleged possession of stolen guns on Wednesday.

Two other arrests were reported in Jeannette, where state agents, task force officers and Jeannette police arrested Anthony Michael Inks, 26, of Jeannette and Maurice Jeffrey Warren Johnson, 26, of Pittsburgh's Lawrenceville section.

Kane said 70 grams of crack cocaine was seized with an estimated street value of $7,000, as well as 20 grams of marijuana with an estimated street value of $500; an AK-47 rifle with a fully loaded 30-round magazine; and a .22-caliber Derringer handgun.

Johnson is charged with one count of possession with intent to deliver crack, one count of possession with intent to deliver marijuana, two counts of possession and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed in Westmoreland County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bond.

Inks is charged with one count of carrying a firearm without a license and was placed in Westmoreland County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bond.

Inks and Johnson are scheduled for preliminary hearings on Aug. 28 at 8:30 a.m. before Magisterial District Judge Joseph R. DeMarchis in Jeannette.
