The National Association of Broadcasters is distributing 1,300 battery-operated hand-held TV sets to Hurricane Katrina relief workers.

The 5-inch TVs including AM and FM radio receivers are being distributed by the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters and the Mississippi Association of Broadcasters, TV Week reported Thursday.

"The donation of battery-operated TVs will help law enforcement officials stay connected with their communities and help our citizens through this difficult period of recovery," Dave Young of the Louisiana State Troopers Association said in a statement.

Gulf Coast residents displaced by the hurricane were given 10,000 battery-operated radios by the NAB earlier this week.
