The NBA’s new dress code may have left players grumbling but the league has company among businesses that require more professional dress, a report said. Today, 26 percent of full-time U.S. workers are allowed to dress casually at work, USA Today reported of a BizRate Research study. Some 55 percent of employers allow casual dress once a week, down 5 percentage points from 2001, the Society for Human Resource Management said. BizRate said 64 percent of full-time U.S. workers are required to wear business casual clothing. The NBA’s policy imposed last week bans T-shirts, sleeveless shirts and shorts and requires players to dress in business casual while on team or league business. Players on the bench but not in uniform must wear a sport coat. © Copyright 2005 by United Press International
