NBC has extended "The Office" by two months and is bringing back "Joey" opposite Fox TV's "American Idol" on Tuesday nights.

"The Office" was scheduled to end its season in March, but the show has turned into a Thursday night hit since moving from Tuesdays, so the network has asked for one additional episode and will plug in reruns to fill the rest of the season, Zap2it.com reported. "The Office" season finale will now air May 11.

As for "Joey," the Peacock Network is bringing back the struggling "Friends" spinoff in what is basically considered a suicide time slot, 8 p.m. Tuesday -- directly up against Fox TV's hit talent competition.

"Fear Factor" will disappear from the airwaves in March, with a return planned sometime during the summer, NBC said.
