For fans of the king of rock and roll, there will be a 'new' movie debuting today on Turner Classic Movies: 'Elvis: That's the Way It Is - Special Edition.'

Technically, it's not really new, but it's a revised and improved version of the 1970 concert film. At 97 minutes, the film is 13 minutes shorter than the original, yet contains four more songs and has approximately 40 percent new footage, including 10 never-before-seen on film musical numbers. The movie is shown in the wide-screen (letter-box) format.

Also included is rare, behind-the-scenes footage showing Elvis interacting with his band and backup singers, the Sweet Inspirations and The Imperials. The songs were filmed during six different live shows, as well as at rehearsals.

While some of the rehearsal numbers were deleted from the original version, new songs in the special edition rehearsals include the rockabilly song 'My Baby Left Me,' 'Love Me' and the complete 'Little Sister/Get Back' medley, which was previously cut off before it reached the Beatles' 'Get Back' portion.

The film is part of a 20-movie Presley festival. 'Elvis: That's The Way It Is - Special Edition' was commissioned by TCM at a cost of more than $1 million.
