A New Kensington man was sentenced in federal court in Pittsburgh to 15 years in prison followed by five years' probation for illegally carrying a gun. William Villella, 49, of Sixth Avenue, who has five previous felony convictions, was prosecuted for possessing a pistol on Oct. 22, 2004. Federal law prohibits anyone convicted of a crime punishable by a year or more in prison from possessing a firearm.
