P> A stop at the Wing Street Pizza Hut in Uniontown is a must to get great pizza plus much more. Wing Street is a newer kind of Pizza Hut. “It’s a new concept,” said Jim NcNerney, president and owner of the Wing Street Pizza Hut. “It’s a traditional Pizza Hut with a little bit more.” The new restaurant seats 136 in its two dining areas. It is smoke free. “The regular dining area is a little more formal while the second is informal and has a sports motif,” McNerney said. The main dining area seats around 100 and is large and comfortable while the informal area, sporting three flat screen televisions, is more intimate. “We can also accommodate private parties and Christmas parties and special occasions,” McNerney said. And when visiting this Pizza Hut, customers will be surprised and pleased at the extensive menu and selection. “We have three different types of wings on the menu and nine different sauces.” The new Pizza Hut also offers its “bottomless salad bowl,” different starters and appetizers including the popular Jalapeno poppers and nacho taters, sandwiches, and large speciality salads. And desserts. “We have mini fried apple pies that are popular. They’re deep fried and when we take them out, we cover them with cinnamon and sugar.” Special items for the youth include frozen drinks and chocolate smoothies, milk shakes and a special dessert — strawberry worm farm. Frozen nonalcoholic drinks such as are also available. “We have so much extra plus all the traditional Pizza Hut products,” McNerney said. Restaurant manager Wanda Shutz said customers have been impressed. “The first thing they say is that it doesn’t look like a Pizza Hut,” Shutz said. “It really looks more like an upscale restaurant, but taking care of the customers is our top priority. We don’t look at them as customers but as guests in our own homes.” “We want our customer’s dining experience to be a little more enjoyable,” McNerney said. “This is a new concept, and we have a great location.” Wing Street Pizza Hut is located in the new W and D Plaza, located on Route 21 in Uniontown, behind the Advance Auto. Hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 11 a.m. to midnight Fridays and Saturdays. For information call 724-438-3240.
