Connellsville New hours State Rep. Larry Roberts (D-Fayette) has announced new hours for his district office in Connellsville. The Connellsville office, located at 1402 Memorial Blvd., is now open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. In addition, there’s a new face behind the desk in the Connellsville office, Donna Delgouffre-Vorrasi. The phone number for Roberts’ Connellsville office is 724-626-4461. Roberts also has a district office at 31A Connellsville St. in Uniontown. The number there is 724-439-2329. Latrobe Run cancelled The Heavenly Run, originally scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 5, has been canceled. The 10,000-meter race was to be held at St. Vincent College in Latrobe. Uniontown Meeting The quarterly meeting of the Fay-Penn Economic Development Council Board of Directors will be held at 7:45 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 20 at Meloni’s Restaurant. Please mark your calendar and notify Peggy Hidock at 724-439-7913 by Sept. 18 to confirm your attendance. The cost of the breakfast is $7 per person. Youngwood Two programs Westmoreland County Community College will hold two programs Sept. 11 commemorating the one-year anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the nation. The morning program, “United in Remembrance,” will be held at the WCCC Youngwood Campus pavilion starting at 8:30 a.m. and is free and open to and the public. In addition to observing the national moment of silence at 8:46 a.m., the program will include brief remarks by WCCC President Daniel C. Krezenski, Dr. Robert Myers, chair of the Technologies/English Division, Michael Hricik, associate professor of English, and Ian Yuhouse, president of the college’s Student Government Association. Following the remarks, a tree will be planted in memory of the victims who lost their lives in New York, Washington, D.C., and Shanksville, Somerset County. The U.S. Marine Corps Honor Guard and members of local fire and police departments will also participate in the program. From noon to 1 p.m. at the Founders Hall amphitheater, American Red Cross volunteer Jeannie Barnett will share her experiences at and photographs of the World Trade Center and Shanksville sites.
