Occupation: Recently appointed executive director of the Three Rivers Rowing Association, a nonprofit organization with locations in Millvale and Washington's Landing that promotes the benefits of paddling and rowing.

Noteworthy: He is only the second executive director in the 22-year history of the association.

Education: Graduate of Westinghouse High School; bachelor's degree in communications from Slippery Rock University, 2002; master's degree in organizational leadership from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, 2005.

Background: Previously owned a business that provided individual and group coaching, and leadership and professional development services. Butler is a licensed coach facilitator, member of the International Coach Federation and part-time lecturer in organizational ethics at Robert Morris University. He was twice ranked first in his age group at the National Championship Tournament of the USA National Karate-Do Federation.
