Noteworthy: Honored at a ceremony in Monaco as 2013 Best Masters Athlete of the Year by the World Masters Athletic Council. It capped a year when he broke outdoor world records for his age division in the 200-meter dash (24.65 seconds) and 400-meter dash (56.09 seconds), and set an indoor record of (25.41 seconds) in the indoor 200-meter dash.

Occupation: Retired middle school industrial arts teacher

Background: Allie, who broke records in track at Oliver High School and won a scholarship as a walk-on sprinter at Hampton University in Virginia, taught in Pittsburgh city schools for 35 years and coached girl's middle school basketball, soccer and softball. He began competing internationally in World Masters Athletics track events at the age of 40.

Education: Bachelor of Science in industrial arts, Hampton University, 1971; master of vocational education, University of Pittsburgh, 1978.
