Background : Loos started working in Pittsburgh Public Schools in 2001, teaching eighth-grade communications at Arsenal Middle School. She now teaches fifth-graders at Spring Hill Elementary School.
Noteworthy : Loos has been selected to take part in the Honeywell Space Academy for Educators program June 11-17 at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Ala. Loos will join 345 science and math teachers from 46 states and 19 countries in the weeklong program. She plans to use the experience to create a "Space Week" for her classes.
