Noteworthy: The newly renovated Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation and Wellness Center at UPMC Shadyside has been renamed in honor of Adler.

Background: Adler established the first coronary care unit in Western Pennsylvania at UPMC Montefiore in Oakland and is a past president of the American Heart Association of Pennsylvania.

Education: He obtained his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed an internship and residency at UPMC. He completed a research fellowship at Harvard Medical School.
