Noteworthy : English was awarded the William R. Baierl Award as the 2009 Businessman of the Year by the Northern Allegheny County Chamber of Commerce. He was recognized at a luncheon in December and awarded a plaque.

Background : English, a lieutenant colonel in the Marine Corps Reserves, is a judge advocate. He served active duty in the Marine Corps from 1987-91. English volunteers and serves as lay leader at St. Paul United Methodist Church. He is president of Hampton Rotary Club, treasurer of Hampton Community Association, board member for Hampton Alliance for Educational Excellence, board member for Allegheny County Bar Association's Sole & Small Firm Section and a youth soccer coach.
