Noteworthy: Fisher received a Fulbright U.S. Student Grant to teach English to students in South Korea. He left the U.S. in July to teach first-year high school students grammar and conversational techniques, as well as help them edit the school's first English newspaper.

Age: 23

Residence: Squirrel Hill

Education: Graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2012 with bachelor's degrees in natural sciences and anthropology

Background: Fisher applied for the Fulbright last year, inspired by his world travels with the Semester at Sea program as a student at Pitt. He began taking more language classes and studying other cultures. In South Korea, Fisher lives with a host family and spends his time outside of the classroom experiencing Korean culture, and has traveled to Vietnam.

Quote: “Each of my 15 classes had its own unique dynamic, and I learned after a few months into the semester that if I wanted to engage my students, I would have to customize in some way each lesson so that it catered to them.”
