Jacqueline Dunbar-Jacob

Occupation: Dean and professor of nursing, epidemiology and occupational therapy at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing

Education : Bachelor's degree in nursing from Florida State University; master's in nursing from the University of California in San Francisco; doctorate in counseling psychology from Stanford University

Noteworthy: Dunbar-Jacob, who's been at UPMC since 1984, is an inaugural member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame. The honor acknowledges nurse researchers who have achieved long-term recognition for their work and whose research has influenced the profession and the people it serves. She is among 22 nurse leaders who will be inducted into the Hall of Fame during the International Nursing Research Congress on July 16 in Orlando, Fla.

Quote: "I really feel very good about it, very humbled by it. I don't know how it happened. Basically, individuals needed to be folks who have conducted research over time and have mentored others who've gone on to do good things and have successful careers themselves."
