Noteworthy: Used the school's newsletter to raise supplies for Children of the Americas Inc., which provides volunteers and free medical care for poor residents of Guatemala and other developing countries; working as a support volunteer, she traveled with her mother in January to San Marcos, Guatemala, where she used her Spanish language skills to act as a translator; also helped raise money for Operation Smile, a group of physicians who travel to developing countries and donate their time to perform reconstructive surgery for those with facial deformities.
