Age: 21

Family: Parents, Robert and Kathryn Sasson; seven siblings

Occupation: Full-time student at the University of North Carolina; part-time comedienne in the Dirty South Improv company. She's home from Chapel Hill on spring break.

Noteworthy: After head-to-head stand-up-comedy competitions in Chapel Hill, Sasson emerged as one of eight UNC finalists. It's part of Rooftop Comedy's quest nationwide to find the "Country's Funniest College Student." On April 3, she vies against contestants from dreaded Duke. Winners will travel to Aspen, Colo., for the finals. Sasson's routine uses observational, Seinfeldian wit to make people laugh, with some of her best material culled from growing up in a big family.

Quote: "I'd like someday to be a comedic actress, but the great thing about stand-up comedy is that you write the routine and perform it. When an audience laughs, it's such a wonderful ego trip."
