Noteworthy : Ernst & Young presented Morris with a lifetime achievement award at its annual Entrepreneur of the Year regional dinner on June 10. Morris is the first person in the Western Pennsylvania/West Virginia region to receive the award.

Age : 61.

Residence : Collier.

Occupation : Director of Duquesne University's Entrepreneurial Studies Program and host of "The American Entrepreneur" radio show, which can be heard from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturdays on WMNY 1360.

Education : Bachelor of Arts degree from Westminster College and master's degrees in sciences and education from the University of Pittsburgh.

Background : Morris started working for himself when he was about 7 years old shining shoes for a quarter. He went on to start 13 businesses including Information and System Research Inc.; Mastech (now IGate Corp.), a publicly traded NASDAQ company; and Rapidigm, a software services company. He sold his last business, JDWarren Inc., in 1999 and started a radio talk show to help other people start and run their businesses.
