Actor Nicolas Cage has become the latest Hollywood heavyweight to jump on board with cable TV's SciFi Channel.

Cage is executive producer of a two-hour movie, "The Dresden Files," which will mostly likely become a series after its debut next summer, the New York Daily News reported Tuesday.

"The Dresden Files" is based on Jim Butcher's novels about Chicago private eye Harry Dresden, whose familiarity with the dark arts brings him into contact with ghouls that haunt the city.

"X-Men" director Brian Singer's "The Triangle" is scheduled to air on SciFi in December and Steven Spielberg is producing "Nine Lives," a follow-up to the alien abduction series, "Taken," the Daily News said.
