The New Kensington area man who was injured Sunday outside Dreshar Stadium when police say a Pittsburgh man ran him over with his car was upgraded from critical to stable condition on Monday. David Thomas, 19, of Greensburg Road, is being treated at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. He suffered facial injuries, among other injuries, at about 8:15 p.m. on Sunday, when, according to police, Joseph Gshinsky, 19, backed into him with his car. Gshinsky was being held in the Allegheny County Jail. Police charged Gshinsky with a number of crimes, among them an accident involving injury while not properly licensed, fleeing police, aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence, five counts of reckless endangerment and a number of summary offenses. Tarentum Police Chief William Vakulick said both men were present at the Tarentum skate park when an argument ensued. He was unsure if the men were friends, or knew each other prior to the incident.
