Nonprofits benefit from charities’ grants

A group of nonprofit organizations in Lawrence County received $15,800 in grants, two local charities announced.

The Lawrence Community Foundation and the Almira Foundation made donations to the United Way of Lawrence County, Salvation Army, Cathedral Foundation, Lark Enterprises, Big Brothers and Sisters, Lawrence County Crisis Shelter, Lawrence County Children and Youth Services, Patches Place, New Castle City Rescue Mission, Mercer Community Band, New Castle Christian Academy, Lawrence County Habitat for Humanity and New Castle Public Library.

The Community Foundation of Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio made the announcement. More information about the group is available at www.sv-foundation.org .
