Residence : Franklin Park Age : 10 School : Charles is a fifth-grader at Franklin Elementary School in the North Allegheny School District. Family : Parents, Molly and Kent Oestreich; brothers Kyle, 18, and William, 14; a sister Elaine, 16 Noteworthy : Oestreich was named a Steinway Piano Student of the Month and played the piano at Heinz Hall for the Performing Arts on Sept. 28. Activities/interests: Oestreich plays baseball and soccer in North Allegheny and Franklin Park intramural leagues. He plays the viola in the elementary school orchestra. Oestreich has played the piano for five years. In his free time, he enjoys skiing. Quote : "I play the piano because other people enjoy the music I make. I feel like I give a message from the composer. I'm the messenger, and the audience is hearing the composer's message through me. I try to figure out what the composer wants to say, and then I have to be sure to play the piece the right way."
