Residence : Findlay

Age : 12

School : She is a seventh-grader at West Allegheny Middle School.

Family : Parents, Joseph and Christine Sinagoga; three half sisters, Lisa Pegher, 28, Sarah McCoy, 29, and Sharon Schultz, 33.

Noteworthy : Josi won the local Veterans of Foreign Wars annual Patriot's Pen Essay Contest. She received a $100 cash prize, and her essay has been sent on to be judged at the national level. Her essay, titled "Citizenship in America," talks about how the hardships citizens face bring them together. She donated $50 of her prize to her church, Hebron Presbyterian in Findlay, and $50 to a family that lost its home in a fire.

Activities/Hobbies: Josi plays soccer and the violin.

Quote : "I thought since the essay was on citizenship, the best way to use the money was to give it back to the community."
