A former Norwegian game show host faces 80 days in jail for helping his former trainer hide assets.
Norway's Supreme Court declined to hear Hallvard Flatland's appeal of his conviction and jail sentence, the newspaper Aftenposten reports.
Flatland maintains that he is innocent, saying that $520,000 deposited in his Monte Carlo bank account belonged to a Bergen horse owner who planned to use it to buy new stock. But authorities say that the money belonged to Atle Hamre, the former trainer, who testified for the prosecution.
As host of the Norwegian version of "The Wheel of Fortune," Flatland was one of the country's best-known television personalities.
Flatland was given a six-month sentence with two months suspended. With time off for good conduct, he can expect to get out of jail in about 80 days, Aftenposten said.
