Not Casey, not Santorum

Arnaud de Borchgrave's column " The real story from Europe & France isn't pretty " (Oct. 18 and PghTrib.com) should be required reading for Pennsylvania voters.

It would help them realize that what is at stake in the senatorial race between Sen. Rick Santorum and Bob Casey Jr. extends far beyond the boundaries of our state.

How to effectively deal with radical Islam is one of the most important issues we face now and will continue to face for years. I fear for my children's future if we do not have leaders who grasp the big picture.

Casey is certainly a nice person but he does not seem to have a grip on foreign policy issues. Santorum's understanding of foreign policy and particularly the threat of Islamic radicalism is deep and wide.

I hope that for the sake of our country's future Pennsylvania voters have the good sense to return Santorum to the senate.
