Penn State-Behrend's Staci Banaszek set two school records at Case Western this weekend. She qualified for the ECAC's and provisionally qualified for the NCAA nationals with a record-setting high jump of 5 feet, 5 inches. Three events later, she set the record in the long jump with a leap of 16 feel, 11 inches and qualified for the ECAC. On the men's side, Brad Ruffo set a new Behrend record in the 5000-meter run, finishing in 16:06.57.
Wade Jean resigned his position as Duquesne University men's soccer head coach to accept the head coaching job at St. Michael's College in Colchester, Vt. Jean, who went 82-54-14 in eight seasons at Duquesne, will also serve as St. Michael's athletic ticket manager and event supervisor. His decision to leave was influenced by the fact he grew up 20 minutes from the St. Michael's campus. A four-time Atlantic 10 Conference Coach of the Year, Jean led the Dukes to a share of the last three A-10 regular-season titles. His 2005 Dukes, who finished 13-5-0, were nationally ranked in three of the four major college soccer polls at one point or another during the season. Ten of his former players went on to play professionally.
