An Ohio court judgment for nearly $5.8 million against owners of the bankrupt Damon's restaurant chain landed this week in Allegheny County Common Pleas Court. The Ping-Wang and Theresa Chiang Family Trust won a breach of lease judgment from an Akron court in November against G&R Acquisition Inc. of the North Side and a Damon's management entity. A third entity, Damon's International Inc., is under Chapter 11 protection, the Ohio court said. The Chiangs' judgment includes payments going-forward on a 16-year lease for a closed restaurant in Stow, Ohio, Joe Piccirilli, who handles leases for G&R, said Friday, adding bankruptcy protection should lower the amount. Damon's bankruptcy filing lists Ping-Wang Chiang of Cleveland among its largest unsecured creditors, owed $153,000.
